- Raw paste from mail (minor edits):
first off, man irgi labai patinka minimalizmas, so don't worry. mintis būtų design/interface-wise išlaikyt minim., ir allow for the same / or nearly the same kind of minimalistic interaction (a few clicks is all, no overload), but also to allow for additional things. but try keeping it to few fundamental building blocks. growing is good, though
what i'd like to see for /good - appreciate any input, including whether i'm taking it too seriously:- as you said: users. matyt, kieno kuris entry yra gerai, ypač jei kada nors bus kad ir bent dar keli žmonės. tiesiog naudinga yra/bus žinot kaip ten kas. generic anon account (pagal tradiciją cypherpunks:cypherpunks or whatnot) included.
- ok you might say this is already too much, but: tags. think: "intense", "chill" (filmas/etc/knyga), "fiction", "science", ir t.t. /good/intense, /good/intense+fiction and so on would work. man labai make'intų sense. at the same time, no clutter - jei nori, viską matai viename view, ir tags would be visually non-intimidating.
- personal recommendations: petras gali rekomenduoti item X zigmui, zigmas matys, kad turi recommendation'ą (i know it feels social networkish, but i think it's useful.) šitas rekombinuoja jau existing entity types (User, Item), so not conceptually heavy. tiesiog - think of as in email+facebook+whatever, but distilled to actual good stuff, and recommended personally (mass spam would not work). ir viskas vienoj vietoj, ir ten išlieka visąlaik. galima kolekcionuot.
- feeds - 'newest' (global) feed (might be able to subscribe/unsubscribe from certain users if there'd be more eventually), feed for a particular tag - just open that tag's page and you'll get stuff - newest on top; user - open user's page.
- now, might hate, but: up/downvotes (or whatever names for that stuff). it is useful for yourself. maybe not even a downvote. not sure. if this, then also maybe: 'seen/know' vote (it'd basically be a tag, conceptually). now, if you're in a feed, the stuff you've 'seen' will be less visually catching-your-eye (greyed out somewhat, or whatever, or just marked as 'seen'). this is good.
- if we have up/downvotes, there could be a link - only a link, nothing heavy - to an 'automatic recommendation' feed - just a list of recommendations (you don't get notified about these) based on up/downvote item set intersections between users - you get items from closest users to you (up/downvoted similar stuff) in that feed (stuff you haven't seen.) (if binary votes, might simply use/reimplement david celis' "recommendable" (explanation.))
- edit also: one could be able to specify which users have a say in the auto.recommendation feed for the user in question (with a setting for "default none", "default all") - would be nice.
now, again, architecturally, it's basically just three generic entity types in general: User, Item, Tag. (subjects, objects, predicates.) (tag and vote/'seen' are conceptually very much alike.) this i like.
galėtų atrodyt labai panašiai/paprastai.
makes sense?
